Instructions for use of high alumina castables

2022-04-11
High alumina refractory castables are synthesized from high-alumina refractory aggregates, powders, binders, and additives in a certain ratio. It has good high-temperature performance, high endurance, a wide temperature range, no shrinkage, wear resistance, and other characteristics. It is deeply used in hardware, smelting, chemical, non-ferrous metal, and other industries, especially in the iron and steel industry, and is mainly used in the front kiln mouth of rotary kiln, disintegration furnace, kiln hood, and other parts.

Features of high alumina castables

1. The construction water consumption is low, usually 6-7% of the refractory castable, so it has high density and low porosity;
2. It has good volume stability at high temperatures. Although high-alumina bricks are non-burning refractories, the volume shrinkage decreases after drying and calcination;
3. Not only has high curing strength at room temperature, but also the strength does not decrease after being treated at medium temperature and high temperature, and the absolute strength is 3-5 times that of traditional refractory castables;
4. The amount of cement is low, and the calcium content in the castable is only 1/4-1/3 of the traditional refractory castable. Thus, the amount of low-melting phase in the low-cement castable is reduced, resulting in a significant improvement in high-temperature performance.
