Classification of refractory Monolithic products
There are many varieties of refractory Monolithic products, and their classification methods are also different. Unshaped refractory materials are mainly classified according to their construction characteristics, and can also be classified according to their porosity, the type of binder used, and the material of refractory aggregate.
Classified by porosity: there are two types of dense refractory Monolithic products and insulating refractory Monolithic products. Dense refractory Monolithic products are also called ordinary or heavy refractory Monolithic products, and thermally insulating refractory Monolithic products are also called light refractory Monolithic products. According to the classification of international standards (ISO1927-75), the porosity of the sample after drying of the heat-insulating unshaped refractory lining should be no less than 45%.
Classification according to the type of binder: According to the chemical properties of the binder, it can be divided into two types: inorganic binder amorphous refractory material and organic binder amorphous refractory material. According to the hardening method of the binder, it can be divided into a gas-hardened binder, hydraulic binder, thermosetting binder, and other types of refractory Monolithic products.
Classified by aggregate material: aggregates are classified into dense aggregates and heat-insulating aggregates. Dense aggregates mainly include clay, high alumina, siliceous, magnesia, dolomite, spinel, chromium, zirconium, carbon, and silicon carbide; in addition, there are various Insulating aggregate materials mainly include pumice, floating beads, vermiculite, ceramsite, expanded perlite, porous clinker, and alumina hollow spheres, etc. Insulation aggregates can also be made of heat-insulating refractory products or fragments.
