Preparation process of high alumina ceramic balls

2022-08-08

The forming methods of high alumina ceramic balls include dry pressing, grouting, extrusion, cold isostatic pressing, injection, casting, hot pressing and hot isostatic pressing. In recent years, pressure filtration molding, direct solidification injection molding, gel injection molding, and centrifugal molding.

Grouting molding:

Grouting is the earliest molding method of high alumina ceramic balls. Due to the gypsum type, low cost, large shape and complex shape, the key to grouting is the preparation of alumina slurry, and water is usually used as a flux. , adding binders and binders. After grinding, the air is expelled and injected into the plaster mold, and the slurry is solidified in the mold due to the adsorption of water by the capillary of the plaster mold. When the hollow grout is applied, and the slurry wall reaches the desired thickness, the excess must be removed. The slurry is poured out.

2. Forming high alumina ceramic balls by extrusion

High alumina ceramic balls formed by extrusion method are currently the worst in the same type of ceramic balls, but are also the most productive forming method. They are generally used to form medium-aluminum ceramic balls or clay balls. This kind of ceramic ball has low sintering temperature, simple production equipment and small investment. It only needs a ball mill, a filter press, a vacuum mud refining machine, and a lower temperature kiln to produce.

3. Forming high alumina ceramic balls by agglomeration

This method is a reference to the production process of Chinese medicine pills or the northern forming of glutinous rice balls. It belongs to a semi-dry and wet forming method.

Hydraulic die-formed high alumina ceramic balls

Strictly speaking, the high alumina ceramic balls formed by this method are not spherical in the geometric sense, but cylindrical or cylindrical spheres.

5. High alumina ceramic balls formed by cold isostatic pressing by wet bag method

The cold isostatic pressing of the wet bag method is used to form high alumina ceramic balls . The powder is first filled into a soft mold (rubber mold) with a spherical inner cavity. The soft mold must be sealed and put into the working cylinder of the cold isostatic pressing machine. (high-pressure container), the ultra-high pressure (generally above 1oompa) liquid medium is introduced, and the liquid medium compresses the soft mold together with the powder evenly with equal pressure in all directions. Take it out from the working cylinder of the cold isostatic pressing machine (the plastic mold is wet, and the plastic mold is also called a bag, hence the name of the wet bag), and the spherical blank is obtained by demoulding outside the working cylinder.

6.Dry isostatic pressing of high alumina ceramic balls

This is the most advanced forming method at present, which is easy to realize automatic production, and is less affected by human factors.
