Fused cast α-β Corundum Bricks for Glass Kiln
Electric fused α-β corundum brick is an electric fused refractory material that is widely used in glass furnaces such as light industry, building materials, and electronics. It has better performance than other materials in terms of glass erosion resistance, foam resistance, and stone resistance. In particular, it has a structure that does not pollute the molten glass, so it is a refractory material for glass forming parts such as the clarification part of the glass melting furnace, the working pool, the runner, and the forehearth.
The fused α-β corundum brick is made of high-purity smoke-fired alumina (above 95%) and a small amount of admixtures. After batching, it is put into a three-phase electric arc furnace and cast into a special mold after being smelted at a high temperature of 2300 °C In the middle, heat preservation and annealing are carried out and then taken out. After cold processing, pre-assembly and inspection, the taken out rough bricks become finished bricks that meet customer needs.
Because the fused refractory material is made of high temperature material liquid, the material liquid will shrink during the condensation process, resulting in shrinkage holes inside the bricks, and the position of the shrinkage holes should be considered when using. There are also various casting methods used to control the shrinkage cavity during manufacture. As an electrofusion AZS, there are often common casting (RC), inclined casting (TC), no shrinkage casting (VF), and quasi no shrinkage casting. (ENC) 4 casting methods, and fused α-β corundum bricks have only two casting methods: ordinary casting (RC) and non-shrinkage casting (VF) as a whole.
The fused α-β corundum brick is an alumina-based fused refractory material which is produced by melting and casting high-purity alumina raw materials at a high temperature above 2000C. Due to the difference of NaO content, the composition ratio of α-alumina and β-alumina is different, so the products are divided into 3 major varieties: α-alumina, α-β alumina and β-alumina.
