Zirconia series refractory brick for glass furnace
Zirconia series refractory brick, like fused zirconium corundum bricks (AZS bricks), fused zirconium bricks, sintered zircon bricks and zirconium mullite bricks, play a vital role in glass kilns because they have excellent high temperature resistance, erosion resistance, corrosion resistance and good thermal stability. The specific applications are as follows:
Fused zirconium corundum bricks (AZS bricks)
Widely used in high-temperature areas directly in contact with glass liquid, such as melting pools, launders, breast walls, etc. of float glass production lines. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, it can effectively resist chemical erosion and physical erosion of glass liquid.
It is also used in key parts of various types of glass kilns such as flat glass kilns and daily glass kilns to meet the needs of different heat sources and forming methods.
Fused high zirconium bricks
Fused high zirconium brick is a kind of advanced refractory material, mainly used in high temperature environment under harsh working conditions, such as various high temperature furnaces and equipment linings in metallurgy, chemical industry, glass and ceramics industries. Its main component is zirconium oxide (ZrO₂), which is prepared by electric melting process, hence the name fused high zirconium brick.
Sintered Zircon bricks
In glass tank kilns, zircon bricks are often used in slag, fire holes, detection holes, breast walls of the melting part, and sealing layers of the arch foot pool bottom. Although these parts do not directly contact the glass liquid, they need to withstand high temperatures and possible erosion.
It has good resistance to erosion by alkali-free glass liquid and is suitable for use in parts that are in contact with alkali-free glass liquid and have a lower temperature. At the same time, due to its resistance to thermal shock, it is suitable for upper structures with small temperature changes.
Zirconium mullite bricks
Used in parts that require both high temperature stability and good mechanical strength, such as some specially designed glass kiln structures, which combine the erosion resistance of zirconium and the thermal shock stability of mullite.
Other applications of Zirconia series refractory brick:
In some special areas, such as specific parts of the regenerator, although high-purity magnesia bricks, magnesia-chrome bricks or low-porosity clay bricks are traditionally used, refractory materials containing a high proportion of zirconium oxide may also be used to enhance refractory performance when pursuing higher performance or specific needs.
In summary, high zirconium bricks play a key role in protecting furnace linings, extending furnace life, and improving production efficiency during the glass melting process with their superior performance. They are one of the indispensable refractory materials in the modern glass industry.
